Weekend photos

Here is a few photos that I took on the last weekend.

I bought 6 stops ND filter, and stacking it on 3 stops ND that I already have, I now have 9 stops ND altogether.  I have included a couple test shot here.

Photos on a country road

On the way back from our outing to Albany, I stopped our car to take photos along the highway.

Here are photos that I took at Arthur River.

As I was setting up tripods, we kept hearing gun shots close by.  It sounded like someone was playing with his rife or something.  

It was kind scary as we didn't know that the person wasn't going to aim at us just for laugh.  So, I quickly took a few frames, jumped back to car, and left.

アルバニーからの帰り、途中ちょこちょこと止まって写真を撮りました。

アーサーリバーという町での写真ですが、道端で三脚をセットしているとパーンという銃声が何度も聞こえてきました。

どうも、どこかでライフルかなんかで遊んでいるやつがいる様子。友達は、のんきに立ちションをしていましたが、僕は、銃をぶっ放しているやつが実はとんだイカレ野郎で、ふざけてこっちに撃ってくるんじゃないか心配でなりませんでした。ふと、戦場カメラマンってこんな感じなのかなと思いました。

Big rock, big fish, and big shark

My friend and I went to Albany to chase some kahwai yesterday.

We checked a few places without success, but we finally found a big school at a place called Salmon Hole.

The school of fish we saw was bigger than 25m swimming pool, and we could see people went frantic on a big rock as the school was coming into their casting range. People were casting whatever they could and pulling out some big fish.

The only problem for us wast that we didn't have skill to cast a nearly whole fly line among those fishing crowds or have guts to stand on that the edge of the slippery looking rock where big waves were hitting from time to time.

We also spotted a large shark in the bay which gave us another reason not go to the rock.  It was a fair size, over 2m long, I would say. We didn't know if the shark was there for a school of fish, or just waiting until an idiot or two would fall from the rock.  Interestingly, we saw a group of body boarders who were unknowingly moving into the surf shortly after we lost a sight of the shark.

週末にAlbanyという町へ釣りに行って来ました。釣果は、ゼロ。ただ、サーモン・ホールという場所は、色々な意味で面白い場所でした。

高台から見ていると、２５メートルプールが一杯になるであろうサイズの魚の群れがやって来て、魚がやって来ると、それまでおとなしくしていた釣り人たちが岩の上で右往左往しはじめ、ルアーやらなんやらを群れめがけて投げます。そうこうすると次から次へと大きな魚が岩の上に引きづりあげられます。中には途中でバレて、岩を転がって落ちていく魚をいました。

湾の中では、アシカが魚を追いかけまわしていて、近くには、２メートル位のサメが魚を追っているのか、はたまた岩から転げ落ちて来る釣り人を待っているのか、湾の中をグルグルと泳ぐのが見えました。

僕らには、落ちたらサヨウナラであろう岩のエッジに立って、お祭り騒ぎの釣り人の中をフルラインキャストできるだけの腕も度胸もないので、高見の見物でしたが、それはそれで楽しめました。

大きな波が無ければパックラフトで出陣もあったのですが、でも、やっぱりサメがねえ・・・。ちなみに、サメが見えなくなってから２０分くらいすると、４人ぐらいのボディボーダーが湾の中に入ってきました。知らぬが仏とはこの事だと思いました。
