Fishing on one summer day

It has been another hot and dry summer.
Fishing is getting harder and harder as the water gets lower and lower. We need some rain before trout get dried up.

イースターの連休に釣りに行ってきました。
夏の間、雨がほとんど降っていないので、川の水はチョロチョロていど。
足首ほどしかない瀬にはまったく魚の気配は無く、どころどころに残ったプールに数匹いる程度でした。

早く雨が降らないかなあ。

A portable large format camera

My friend has bought a new camera.

It is based on a Polaroid camera with a modified back so that it can be loaded with large format films. He told me that the original lens has been replaced with 135mm Fujinon lens.

Apparently it works just like a range-finder but it has a bigger body to take a bigger film.

I am looking forward to see how pictures will come out with this camera.


昨日、友達が最近買ったと言うカメラを見せてもらいに行きました。

昔のポラロイドカメラのボディに大判カメラ用のフィルム・ホルダーとレンズが着けてあるヘンテコなカメラです。

友達いわく、超大型のレンジファインダーだと言っていました。

メルボルンかどこかで、マニアックなおじさんが作っているそうですが、作りは結構良い感じでした。　ただ小型一眼に慣れた僕には、ボディが大きくてどうも握りづらかったです。あとシャッターリリースがレンズの横にあるため、右手でカメラをホールドしながらシャッターを切るのがちょっと難しかったです。

どんな写真が撮れるのかとても楽しみです。

It was great to be on the river with you yesterday.
