Stay home and fix my reel

It is very wet and windy outside, so I have decided to stay home and clean my fly reel.

I repaired some paint loss with touch up paint. Although
It is a futile attempt as the paint keep chipping off, I guess it is better than doing nothing. After having several touch up jobs in the past, it is getting hard to see where the original paint is and isn't now.

After catching fish years, the gear has been very much worn out, and I have been thinking how to replace it.

Well, as Buddhists say, everything has its end, but hopefully I can squeeze a few more years out of my old reel before it reaches the fly reel nirvana.

We went fishing yesterday afternoon, and we got a few fish.

Mike found this little bait floating on the water.

Late evening on the river yesterday

Sunday afternoon

As I was doing bit of tour guiding for the teachers from our sister school, I haven't had much chance to fish for the past two weekends.

Having said that, I squeezed a couple of hours to fish on Sunday afternoons. Here are some of my catch.

A step towards the world peace

A group of exchange students from our sister school in Japan left our school today.

Incidentally, it was Hiroshima day today, and it was great to see people from two cultures sharing laughter and shedding their tears to say good bye, which was perhaps unimaginable over a few generations ago.

They have made a new friendship over the week, and I am sure that they have grown as global citizens to share the world and to live in peace and harmony.
