I am finally back to fishing since we came back from our school trip to Japan.

I had a short fishing session on Friday to get a half dozen herring. It was nice to be on the water and to cast line, feeling to be free again (it required an awful amount of energy and patience to look after a group of teenagers for two weeks day and night).

Today, Mike and I went down to the Canning on the way back from our Club's casting day. Although the weather was wet and cold, I was just happy to be on my home water and catching a couple of fish to wrap up my wonderful action packed holiday.

2010 Japan Trip

I have been away for two weeks for our school trip to Japan.

It was a truly amazing time with lots of smiles, laughter, and surprises, and I think I am very very fortunate for being able to go on the tour with such a lovely bunch of people.

Thank you everyone. I had a great time with you guys, and you made me realized that I have a really wonderful job.

A fishing irony

While my friends were driving South yesterday to take a part in our club's freshwater field day / weekend, I was driving North to come home. I have some work to be done by this weekend, so spending a whole weekend chasing fish was unfortunately not an option.

Anyway, it turned out that I had a bit of time to go fishing this afternoon, so I went bream fishing for a hour or so instead. An irony was, I hooked up a good fish which I haven't caught for some time during this winter. It was one fine fish, and I would not catch it, if I was gone South. Watching the fish swimming away, I thought missing the field day wasn't that bad after all.

今週末は、クラブの鱒釣りフィールドデイなのですが、来週までに終わらせなくてはならない仕事があって、みんなと一緒に泊まりで釣りに行く事は出来そうも無いので、行くのは止めにしました。

だからと言って、釣りに行くのを諦めた訳ではなく、今日の午後は、ちょろっと家の近くでクロダイ釣りに行ってきました。まさに、捨てる神あれば拾う神あり、久々に良い型のクロダイが釣れました。
