Bamboo field test for bream

At the fly tying meeting today, we were watching nice fishing DVDs. After seeing those beautiful scenes in the films, I could no longer resist my fishing urge. I just wanted to go fishing. So I called my friend, and went to our usual spot to have an afternoon fishing.

It was a nice afternoon which deserve something different, so I took out my bamboo rod for the first time for catching black bream.

We didn't find bream at the end, but my trusty mohair minnow did its job to nail a few yellowtail grunters. It is always fun to catch grunter on a light rod, and I had twice amount of fun today by catching them on a bamboo rod.

フライタイイング・ミーティングで毛鉤を巻きながら、みんなで釣りのDVDを２、３本観ていました。ソルトな人達の集まりですが、なぜか鱒釣りのDVDがメインでした。中でもネズミのパターンでNZの巨大な鱒を釣るやつとカルフォルニアのスティールヘッドのDVD、それとベイリーズでパーミットを釣るDVDが面白かったです。

そんなのを観せられたら釣り魂に火がついてしまうのは当然です。ミーティングの後で早速友達に電話をしていつもの場所へをクロダイを狙いに行きました。竿はいつものグラファイトではなく、竹竿です。

クロダイは見つけられませんでしたが、Yellowtail Grunterを３匹釣りました。２５センチくらいにしかならない魚ですが、クロダイよりもアグレッシブで、ライトロッドで狙うと面白い魚です。竹竿でクロダイを釣ったらどうなるか次の週末が楽しみです。
