I tried Canon EF 50mm f1.8 on the weekend.
EF50mm f1.8 looks cheap and feels cheap, but it is still a nice lens, I think.
I have already got 50mm f2.5 macro, so I am not yet convinced to buy another 50mm even though it is only $100, especially Canon's new 40mm f2.8 lens is around $150. The 40mm pancake lens sounds like a good small lightweight lens to take on trekking and traveling.
But then, after playing around with a f1.8 lens, f2.8 prime does look bit ordinary.
